Rugby Winter Shelter
Hope 4 are pleased to report that the Rugby Winter Shelter was open again this winter from 1st December 2012 to 31st March 2013.
The Rugby Winter Shelter opened on the 1st of December 2011. This was a Hope4 initiative in partnership with the National Housing Justice Coalition, the Revive network of Christian churches in the Borough and DHL Logistics at DIRFT, Crick. It provided shelter for the night throughout the winter months for rough-sleepers and homeless people.
During the first four months that the shelter was open from 2011/2013, 56 folk who may have otherwise been rough sleeping or sofa surfing were given a safe haven, warm bed and hot meals. In total 853 beds were taken up during that period and 14 of those guests are now in perminant housing.
